I love this! There are youtube videos of a farmer who plays trombone for his cows that I could watch all day haha. They love it!
But seriously, it is such a neat trick when we manage to find success in what we thought was only a failure. As well as making us feel better, we are more confident to try things in the future, or that's how it works for me at least.
I think the best example of this for me is the long period of time I spent failing uni subjects because I was literally being held hostage by my ex-A (or myself, or both). I was really drowning in regret over my "wasted life" for a long time; it got me very down and made me feel defeated. But my career path changed a lot and now all of that life experience I gained is more valuable than anything I could have learned in a lecture hall. I couldn't foresee that at the time, but knowing it now helps me have faith that other "impossible" situations might have hidden benefits too.
Thanks Debbie for your service and for all above ESH. I think of the phrase, make lemonade out of lemons. The more I dwell on negative stuff, and things I cannot control, the worse I will feel. If I can let go and let God, live and let live, and put one foot in front of the other, I can move forward. For me it's a willingness to try, and permission given to feel better. :)
