so lonely

Hi to everyone,

I'm writing to just have contact with someone.  I am so lonely, I can't seem to find my God today.  My A. is here, but that is no help.  I just want a little human or spirtual company.

Rita

((((Rita))))   <=== these are hugs by the way

Welcome to Miracles in Progress!  You will not be alone here... there are members who have been where you are right now (no matter where that is).

If you have been affected by someone elses drinking, then you are in the right place.  There is an online chat that may be helpful.  The link is in the upper left corner of this page.  Of course feel free to post, we would love to hear from you.

Take care of you!

You are definitely not alone in the universe or living with an alcoholic. I was told to embrace my loneliness and walk through it. Also, that I wasn't connected to the universe. My 3 sons just left after being here for the holidays. I made a plan so I would not be too lonely too long.

In support,

Nancy

big hugs to you. I have known that feeling also. But, know you aren't alone. There are many of us who have known that pain. Keep posting and if you feel like it go to the chatroom. Are there any alanon meetings in your area that you might want to try? As someone told me when I was going through a rough time lately..this too will pass. I thought yeah..ok...sure. But, it does. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers...I hope this too does pass soon for you. Take care of you. You might want to find something you like to do ... and just do it.
your friend in recovery,
rosie

Welcome to MIP!  I know how you feel!  I have felt the same pain of lonliness especially when you are with an A.  I have found that posting here and reading my Courage to Change everyday keeps me from falling into that pit.  Have faith and hope!  Go to a f2f meeting or into the chat room.  We at MIP are your family and we love you!  I have found great strengh and support from many on this board.

Yours in recovery,

Julia

Hi Rita, I am also new here and also came to reach out for some companionship because I often feel so alone with my stuff.  I'm really not sure what to say except that I understand where you are coming from and I hope it helps to be understood.

I just want to reach outside myself and become big and strong and anchored in something bigger than this.  I hate it that I so often can't find that anchor.  But I have found it in Al-anon in the past, in the meetings and in the literature and I think it will be here also.

Good luck!

oh, those days are hard ones, when you can't find your god.....but just like when it feels like a night will never end, you Know that the sun will come up and a new day will begin. you also can trust and know that your god is there loving you....and so are we! strangers who know you already because of what we have in common.

what often works for me is a little dose of change....of scenery, location, music,a hot shower, a walk, an errand....sometimes that smile from the checkout person at the market is enough for me to remember!

keep coming back- this place has helped me so much in the past few weeks - maybe it will help you, too.

love,fifi

Rita, when I have those days one of the first things I have found that is so succesfull is getting out of the house and going to a meeting. Just sitting in the room with recovering people, even if nothing sticks, allows me to remember how important I am to God, even when I do not feel him.
