No longer participating in the Alcoholic's Lies

I simply am not playing along any longer. Gosh, it makes the alcoholic so mad (as well as her enablers).

It's amazing, when you simply live in the real world. Honesty can be so foreign when you have been raised to play the alcoholic's game.

Isn't it true, that when you discover how much you are wrapped up in the denial/avoidance of the games, it is so freeing?  I found that accepting the reality of the situation was a huge thing, because I was so used to covering up and trying to make the alcoholic look good...

Thanks for the reminder.  Have you picked up the book, "Getting Them Sober"?  It helps tremendously in living with an A.

Good luck and love,
