Life after A/son home from prison

Oh gosh, that subject line sounds so dramatic and I don't feel particularly dramatic......

I just wanted to let you all know how it is going here. I have been kinda absent, which actually has been a good thing. Not because this is a bad place, but because things have been going unbelievable well and so smooth. I am doing some things that I have wanted to do for quite some time....years actually. And it is taking up a lot of my time.

First things first though. A/son has been home from prison for about a month now. He is doing so well. I am really proud of him. He is so different, he seems like a different person, which I guess he actually is. I know it is not just wishfull thinking on my part as I have heard the same thing from a lot of people. He has a full time job, and attends meetings every night and church 3 times a week. It is nice to have him back.

As for me, well at first I was really nervous. I had no idea how it was going to go. I was always checking everything he did and waiting for something to happen. Then I caught myself and realized what I was doing and I QUIT IT.

I am living life on my terms. I am starting college full time the 27th. I am working and I am enjoying life.

My AH is pretty much the same as always, but that is his problem, not mine. He can live in the doom and gloom all the time if he wants to. But I am gonna make my life count for something.

Hugs to all my favorite people!

Doxie

Wow, so good to hear the good news.  I am glad that you are finally able to do what you want to do.  That is awesome that you are going back to school.  As for your son....miracles do happen :).  Best of luck hon.

I am so very happy to hear that you and your son are doing so well.  I, having an A/son,too, know how our mother's hearts tend to get wrapped around their recovery, making ours a bit slower, sometimes.  To know and "feel" that you son is doing so well, makes your recovery path a lot brighter, I bet.

I am thrilled for you doxie, for all that you are doing for you.  And I am thrilled for your son, for all that he is doing for him.  I know this has been a long time coming and well worth the wait, I am sure.

I wish you much success at your new challenge of going to school.  And I pray that your son's success keeps getting better and better, as well.

Take care of you and know that I am thinking about you and keeping you both in my prayers.

Love and blessings to you ~ Lexie
