When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road your trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and its turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When they might have won, had they stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow.
Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victors cup; And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out The silver tint of the clouds of doubt And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when your hardest hit, It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!

Giving to others, from the heart..is what its all about..
For so long I have struggled to find a way to have a plan B if my alcholic does not seek help. It had been tough with no car, and poor health at the moment.
However, I NEVER gave up.
I just kept thinking, thinking, thinking....keeping my eyes open, stayed flexible and tried to network, let other people know I was looking for something.
I have a next door neighbor who has her own business and for whom business has been slow. I was just wanting to help and gave her a few ideas for marketing.
I am fascinated by the psychology of sales and marketing and almost pursued a degree it in. I still remembered a lot of the stuff I read.
Anyway, she told me that my ideas are so good that she wants me to try them out! She gave me a three months trial job as "sales and marketing rep" on comission only now, since I don't have a degree in it and she wants to see if my ideas really work or are just dreaming.
This is VERY fair!
She said I can work at my own pace, from home and if I am successful in the future she will talk to me about making me a PARTNER!
See what happens when you never give up?
I never thought I would find such a great job, so much up my ally, and so much fun with such a nice person I get along with.
It is about time things start looking up for me...just like your poem said. I am just glad I did not give up and resign myself to being stuck.
