I am very proud of myself too, when we were talking about him coming back here I told him I was sure he could get his old job back and he asked me to call him (repeatedly) to test the water. I did this for him before he left to see what kind of reference he would give him (should have been bad personally but excellent professionally) and the guy said I don't know why he's afraid to talk to me has he got his head on straight yet? Is he ready to come back? It amazes me what this guy will tolerate but I guess there's a shortage of good guys in my AH's line of work. So I told him NO, absolutely not. I told him to call himself. we went back and forth a few times where he begged me to and I told him to get some balls and call. He said he was ashamed and I said well call and tell him you're ashamed. He always put me in the middle of everything. I try really hard not to do any more than I feel I have to in order to protect my own self interests and the kids.
Anyway I was proud that I said no and I know he will find a way to call him if he really wants to just like he found a way to call me.
Way to go Carolina. You detached and did not enable him. Enabling is doing something for someone else that they can do for themselves "because they need us."
