This Stuff Really Works

Hey all!  Just got back from our anniversary trip last night about 6pm.  We had a fantastic time, went to Put-In-Bay, rode the ferry over to South Bass Island.  We had neither one been there, and didn't even know anything about what we would find.  It was great, the weather was overcast all day Sunday, but we didn't care.

We got a room at a B&B, that was normally $170 a night, but because it was Sun. and not Fri or Sat., it was $75 a night.  It was beautiful, each room had a different Country as its theme.  We stayed in the Russia room, it was painted a deep dark red, with a rich tapestry bedspread and black furniture, with little Russian nesting dolls and some Russian dishes placed around.  They also had an Ireland room, a French room, decorated to match the cultures.  The owner had a British accent on the phone when I first called.  I just said "we'll take it....umm....how much is it?"  LOL, I love British accents.  Anyway, we rode the Ferry over, took the bike on it.  Seagulls are so cool to watch, they follow the ferry looking for fish, I guess.

We got to the B&B, and checked in.  They had complimentary bicycles for our use around the island, so we hopped on and took a run to town.  I hadn't ridden a bike in years!  Of course, one of the first things hubby wants to do is go to a bar, so while he sat there and did his thing, I went for a walk, bought my daughter some Salt Water Taffy at the little candy shop.  Hub and I met up again, and rode bikes back to B&B, then walked back to town.  Guess he was thinking of having a few more s  He stopped at one bar, I just listened to a guy play the guitar.  We had dinner, Lake Erie Walleye.  Stopped at the grocery where he bought a 6 pack, got back to room, he only drank 1 beer, and put the rest in the trash! Hmm.

We had a wonderful night's sleep, then got up yesterday morning, drove around the island a bit and went up into the Perry Memorial Tower thing, took lots of pictures.  Then, we headed home, stopped at a little diner outside Marion, Ohio to eat (I got broiled Pike, still trying to keep on a diet somewhat).  Got home, threw some clothes in the wash, and went to bed.  Back to work today.

I had a lot of time to think, sitting on the back of that Goldwing, as it took us 6 hours to get home.  I am so thankful for Al-Anon.  It has truly worked a miracle in my life.  Without it, and all of YOUR support, I do not think I would have survived myself Miracles do happen.  And angels are everywhere. I never even thought we would make it to our 6th Wedding Anniversary.  I have been married 4 times before, and this is the longest time I have ever spent with anyone.  OK, who says I can't make a commitment?  LOL

And, the coolest thing, and you will not believe it.  I GOT A TATTOO!  Yes, I have thought about it for a long, long time.  I got it Friday night before we took off on our trip Sat. morning.  I was wanting to have it done for our anniversary.

I am Pisces, and my hub is Aquarious, so I got 2 orange and yellow fish swimming in kind of a yin/yang pose, with blue waves of water splashing around them.  Above the design, I have Omnia Vincit Amor, which is "Love Conquers All" in Latin.  It is so cool, I love it.  I got it on the outside of my right ankle.  You all know how I love Keith Urban, right?  Well, the wording is a replica of the tattoo he has on his wrist, but I came up with the other design myself.  And, I figured, it is not like having his name tattooed on my body.  Fish and Water go together, so it will never be something I regret having.

And, you know, in the end, Love Conquers All.  Think for a moment of the power of love.  Love of your spouse, child, parents, friends.  The love you have for the world we live in.  Even the love we have for ourselves.  I wanted to get this quote, because #1, I have seen the power of love moving in my life.  #2, I have finally learned to love myself, because of all the love I have received, from God, my beautiful daughter, the rest of my family, and from you, my dear friends.

I think hubby might freak out if I start getting Al-Anon slogans tattooed in strategic areas of my body.  LOL.  Wouldn't that be hilarious!

Just wanted to let you all know what is going on in my life today.  I am slowly learning to do the One Day at A Time thing.  Wonder where I should get that one tattooed as a reminder????  Any suggestions??? LOL

Anyway, I am so thankful we made it to our 6th Anniversary, and I had a little talk with hubby while we were gone.  About the other night when he was acting like a crazy drunk jerk.  He actually apologized.

I am so glad to be home, and back among my friends.  Missed you all.

Love in Recovery, (& Omnia Vincit Amor!)

Happy Anniversary. What a wonderful time. And I think your idea for the tatoo is great. I have always wanted one but have never found one I thought I could live with. Just love that idea, Omnia Vincit Amor.

Again, Happy Anniversary. May you have many, many more!
