Progress not perfection....

Glad all of you are here. Glad to be here. I move into *my* apt this friday. Am so excited. I think.  Am not certain because Mom is now advocating that I should move into dorm--like Dad has been advocating since I announced I had found an apt last March. I'm really upset with this woman because consistently over the past six weeks the concept of "good enough" eludes me in our relationship. And I'm finding out that I may never be "enough" for her.  I see my councelor today--will make a big difference.

Am at the crossroads alot of us talk about in recovery--I feel safe and good in my reocovery, I know this is good for me, I know this is the next right step for me. But no matter what, I'm getting static from my family. "You should..." "Why are you..." "How could you think..."  All that good alcholic dysfunction thinking.

Am so greatful to *ALL* of you. Would not have made it this far without you.

(((((((((((((Tiger)))))))))))),

How exciting for you, a new apartment!  Love that!

All I can tell you, is that when you stop worrying about what other people think of you and what you do, things change for the better.  The only person you have to answer to is you!  You're an adult and can live on your own if that's what you choose.  You are obviously a responsible human being, otherwise you would not undertake this.  I say: GO FOR IT! ENJOY IT! MAKE IT YOUR OWN!

Your counceling will help. Remember to patient with yourself.  These issues weren't created in a day, so the solutions won't come that way either.

Live strong,

Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Congratulations on your Apartment!!

Progress not Perfection is one of my favorite slogans!!  I also have to remember that we are all on a Path to recovery and as much as we wish we could bring our families with us; we can't -they have to find their own pathway.

Continue to take care of you!! - You deserve it - Your recovery story is an awesome story - thanks for sharing it with us,

Rita

I always loved living alone - one of the things I regretted about getting married was having to give that up. Enjoy your own space, good for you.
