Hi, I'm new here

I found this website, and have been reading a lot of the posts. It has been helpful, I feel like someone else might actually "get" what I am going through.

My mom is an alcoholic and is so deep in denial. (and so out of control) She stopped drinking a few months ago and I found out she was drinking mouthwash by the caseloads. She and I have not spoken in over a week, which is really unusual for us. Everyone else in the family enables her. I realized that I need to focus on my husband and family. Guess what, this is the best I have felt in a long time. I feel like I am on an emotional vacation. I know it'll be short lived....

Thanks for listening to my vent.

Welcome to MIP! It takes alot of energy to live with an alcoholic. Your family comes first. Keep coming back.

In support,

This is the place to be marie. And good for you for putting your family first. I know you love Mom, but you cannot control or cure her drinking. You CAN take care of YOU!!!

Best wishes, Diva
