Just an observation...

((((Everyone))))

Had an interesting mini-vacation the last couple of days.  Due to schedules we ended up going to a lake house for the last few nights.  I didn't anticipate there being any "bonding" with my active AW since she out of the blue earlier in the week asked "... So if I went to rehab would you be happy then?"

She poked around the subject all the way up there and I stayed possitive and joked my way through most of it.  I wasn't making fun of her, just kept light heartingly saying "look at the bright side".  It didn't go over very well I didn't think, but kept me from getting all uptight.

We stayed up very late fishing and playing games with the kids, and in the middle of the night, she woke me up "passionately".  The next morning she was all happy.  Still is.

It is just so odd that anything can flip the switch on her emotions.  Nothing is different, nothing of note has changed, just her attitude.  She allowed herself to be happy and she had a good vacation.

I can learn alot from that.  You know if with all the issues brought about with this disease, both physical and mental, if she can have good days just because she wants to, why can't I?  How about that.... she's helping me with my recovery! LOL

I have, more so than not these days, but I still worry about stuff I can't change anyway.  I still allow her ranting to bother me more than it should, but it's getting better.

Hope you all have a great day!

Take care of you!

(((RT)))

I'm thrilled for you all that you had a good vacation.  It is amazing when we choose to be happy we begin to feel happy, I guess its the same when we choose to be miserable.  I will keep you all in my prayers for continued positive attitudes.  I think its amazing that your AW even said the words happy and rehab in the same sentence.  Let's celebrate that today!!   Thanks for sharing your fun vacation with us.  Have a great weekend.

Hugs,

Twinmom~

I am so glad to hear things went well and you had a nice time!  Isn't it funny, my A also will do or say something that makes me wonder, how does he know that or rather, how is he functional enough to think that way, because some of the things he says are pretty dang smart sometimes and I learn from them!  It is like he is working a program or something but he is not!!!

I am so glad your AW had a good time with you and your family also.  It is so important that we have some joy in our lives...

Have a great weekend!

Rtexas,

Sounds like you both were able to at least do a little program of  "take what you like and leave the rest"

Progress not Perfection - she did mention the word "rehab"

Hope that you will be able to find joy in the simple things & in just being the wonderful person that you are,

Rita
