Practicing the Principles in all My Affairs... or at least trying too

Hi all, just wanted to write, i dont know, just to write lol.  I've been a bit distant with the world lately so I'm trying to break out of that isolation I guess.  Anyway, I was thinking about the last part of step 12 "Having had a spiritual awakining, we tried to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs."  I was thinking on practicing the principles, and was thinking that it sure would be nice if "the principles" were a little bit more clearly defined.  Then I said, no I don't, then someone would be telling me how to live again and I wouldn't have stayed with the program more then 1 meeting if that was the way this program worked!

I guess for me, "the principles" is a way of life that is defined through the rest of the steps.  The principles the steps taught me where to #1 listen and trust God, #2 Pick up after myself so I can feel true serenity and be a better example of HP's work, and #3 never stop doing #1 & #2.

I truely can apply the principles to my whole life, if i have an open mind and an open heart.  I can see the steps at work everywhere, as long as I am willing to apply them.

Lately, I have been a very busy girl, and when I get busy, I get distant, I get overwhelmed and tired and when I do that, I loose my serenity.  Soooo, yesterday, I put everything aside and spent the whole day with my kids at a water park, probably the funnest time I have ever had with my kids, and I would have missed it if i hadn't of stopped and taken my own inventory.  Today, I'm gonna try to take the same approach, I do have things I need to do, but I dont need to take the whole day doing them.  I think I'm gonna put myself on a timer to keep me on track.

I was wondering what you all defined as "the principles" in your lives.

love you all, Trina

(((Trina)))

I think I "try" not to live so much by principal, but by attitude. Of course I have my days..lol If I try to stay in these attitudes the principals of universe fall in to place.

My sought after attitudes are:

1. joyful
2. loving
3. blessing
4. accepting
5. grateful

Dear Trina,

How happy I am for you and your kids for the wonderful day spent together......nothing better than the laughter of our kids to pick us up and make us feel better about ourselves...

For me the principles I mostly live by are: treating others the way I would like to be treated, peace of mind is the most important to me, and trying my best to take it one day at a time...it is the only way to have peace for me....most of all listening to God and living in Gods will.....

Have a wonderful day, the work will be there tomorrow...enjoy those kids

Love Ya,
Andrea

hi Mastiff , to me the principles are  Honesy with self and others , tolerance of myself and others (hard part) hehe. acceptance of others and of course myself.  Live Laugh and enjoy  we only get to do this once, and when I get to heaven and God says " did u have a good life?" I want to be able to say   YES !!!!!!!!!!! thank you.

There are many more princples I am sure but at the moment they escape me . I also think of these principles as gifts .  all designed to make my life better.   Love louise
