Freeing

I read a post about how some of you are freeing yourselfs from various things are your journey. When I started my journey I had to face one of my biggest fears my fear was not being loved by anyone. May sound silly to some but to me it was really hard for me to face. My son's father was an A in my life and he told me many mean hurtful things, an abusive. I left him long ago and detached but along the way somewhere I lost the love of myself, and how to trust in myself to get threw all things not let myself down. But since this program that is one fear I don't have anymore. Because I do love me and trust me for who I truly am.

Hi DoN4 what a great reminder! As I was getting divorced almost 30 years ago, the AH du jour told me I am unlovable. I knew it was tripe when he said it, but in the few years after that I took it to heart. oh no! I lived tht lie too long. One of my friends at work dragged me back to love - you know, those girlfriends that need a double date, get you back in the swing of things, etc -- and the next guy that I could tell loved me, that felt so natural and right. I knew I had been lovable all along. Just saying that now makes me nod my head yep that's right :) Know it inside yourself, and the fear you have just won't be there. I welcome you to imagine yourself as a child. Now, who wouldn't love that little kid? Well who wouldn't love that kid grown up?

Take care of lovable you, and you won't NEED to be afraid of that fear. -- Jill

Here are some things that have helped me since in the program.

  • Go face to face meeting & online meeting.
  • post on the board here on the site. I have gotten a lot of good feed back.

·        In this program u learn that u have choices. In Alanon we don’t give advice but only suggestions.

·        Set support system.  people do not judge. You need someone who can go for coffee on a bad day, or pick up a phone and call when in trouble. The support is what is important when you first this program.

  • Have a sponsor. Someone work one on one with you.

You don’t have to do this the minute u come to the program but I suggest that u do it when u can. It help.

Meeting schedule: meetings are in here and run approximately 90 minutes from: Monday-Friday, 9 am and 9 pm EST, Saturday: 10 am and 9 pm EST, Sunday: 10 am and 7 pm EST. Topics are selected by participants at meeting time. UK +5 hours, central -1 hour, mountain -2 hours, pacific -3 hours. Open chat all other times.

(((((((((((((Bubbles)))))))))))))))) Hug back at cha

Nycbt- Thanks for always been here to give us support and imput about the program.

Jill, Thanks I always appreciate topics that make me think or go hmmm. I never really thought of it that way. I just aways thought of myself as broken. Because I couldn't hold my relationships together so there had to be something wrong with me. Looking back on my way of thinking way back then it is like night and day. I know I am not perfect, I know I make mistakes, just like a child, I am learning more with each passing day.
