Have a Safe Holiday and....quote

whether traveling, or staying home!  ....I hope those of you who are home near the computer, check in for those who are struggling to make it through this holiday.   For me, the fourth of July was and has been the #1  Flashback holiday (for post-traumatic stress syndrome from my spouse's drinking!)  I can remember one fourth of July, John replying to one of my posts when I felt like giving up.  Forever grateful.

Lately, I find it hard whether to speak up about things, or keep my lip zipped.  Quite an issue for me as I search for my assertiveness again.  And every situation is unique.  Such ying and yang, to stand up for oneself or is it better to leave it unsaid?   I am just itching to stand up for ME!  But boy, when my ideas spring from my mouth, well, you know, .........I just have to let go of the results ! ! !    The struggle to make my life more FAIR, not be a doormat, martyr, superwoman (now burnt out), etc. etc. etc.

I leave you with a favorite quote of mine.  Food for Thought:

"Fair is not fair.  Fair is what someone needs."
