Scared Spitless

It is 8:16 am and I am off to my first f2f this morning.  I am extremely nervous which is very odd for me.  Hoping I run into no one I know, which is next to impossible

If there are people I know there I will have to stay very quiet until I see if anonymity is actually practised.  I do know it is supposed to be but also realize that it is not always.

My partner does not know that I am doing this and don't want her to at this point.

Wish me luck

lilms

Good luck. Please know the group is anonymous.

I have seen people from my profession and they never mentioned a word.

Congratulations on the courage to go.

The rewards of recovery are priceless

Lilms, go to your meeting, and please don't worry about seeing someone with whom you are aquainted. That person is going to keep your identity closed. Sure, you'll know when you see one another on the street, but, believe me, it really doesn't matter. You'll hug one another and relate in a whole new way.

When we lived in a small town in Utah, all a person had to do was ride by the meeting place and see whose cars were there. But this is too important to worry about what others think.

Best of luck. Report back to us. Diva

(((Lilms))),

I hope you found peace at your meeting. f2f meetings are so important.

All will go well.

Let us know how it went.

My AH goes to AA (chronic relapser) and his friends all know me. Therefore I choose to be careful what I share in Al anon meetings because so many of his AA friends are in the alanon meetings I go to. But I have personally never had anyone in alanon break my anonymity.

just remember they are counting on you to practice annonymity too.  If there are people there u know thats a good thing you already have someone u can talk to about your problem .  Trust is a major issue for all of us and I understand your concern but just remember that everyone in that room is there because they love an alcoholic.  period
