So I have been praying for guidance about AH living with me when he gets out of prison but you all told me to wait and not mention it yet to him, so I didnt...and yesterday, my puppy went bounding into my new neighbors apartment. I ran after her and new neighbor goes
"I know you, I used to live over where (AH) used to live."
So Im thinking he means the apartment we got evicted from with the cops coming all the time, screaming fights, drunken horrifying scenes, you get the picture. Not wanting him to think AH lives here, I immediately say
"He's in prison."
even though normally I would not tell anyone that, (Its AH's business to tell our/his friends when he gets out, if he wants to). The new neighbor, "Bill" goes
"Oh I just got off the phone with "Eric"",
one of AH's best friends from Sober living (AH was court ordered from his last DUI) who is now clean in NA for about 4 years.
So he knows him from sober living and "Bill" lives with "Emily" who runs a sober living here in LA for ex cons just getting out of prison (!)
AH had previously asked me to get in touch with "Eric" if I could. He was the only one AH wanted to know AH went to prison because "Eric" is an ex con too (and a success story).
So I talk to "Bill" about my dillema, and he agrees with me so we are thinking "Eric" will agree with me and I gave them AH's address so they could correspond and maybe "Eric" will suggest he do transitional living first, as that is what "Eric" did.
Im not going to push him to say that, but knowing him, I think he will suggest it...

Also- he told me to come talk to them anytime and go to meetings with them too.
I have also been praying for help going to meetings and to get more involved in my program.
God is so cool sometimes. He/she comes up with the most random surprising ways to solve problems if I get out of the way!!!
I am openly Christian...not an easy thing to be in a world full of liberal backwards thinking where having faith in God is viewed as weakness by so many...the same people, however, who turn to God when they are at their wits end...not here to judge!
I am so glad that your prayer was answered! I hope Eric can help your AH and that he finds his recovery path.
I love reading your posts...you have really got a lot of positive things happening for you lately it seems!
God does answer our prayers, and I have found that surrendering myself to him is such a comfort. He will do things in His time, not ours, just remember that AND He will only give us what burdens and blessings we need for our lives. He never said there would be no suffering here, but does promise everlasting love and happiness when we die and join Him in His kingdom.
The problem I have is with "free will"....OH MY do I have alot of "free will". I do seem to be able to "Let Go and Let God" but in the same breath I take things into my own hands, the same things I have given to God over and over.
No such thing as a perfect Christian.
I convinced a co-worker/friend to pray on her problems after I had prayed for her fiance to get this job - which he did - she tried God, prayed, and guess what, she checked her child support account, and she got $800 pmnt from her ex-husband who has not paid child support in over a year!
God does listen, does provide, we just need to trust him....
God is funny, isn't he? I think he watches us get all worked up over something, and then realize that we need to let go, and then when it works out I can so here him saying, "See, now why did you waste all that time worrying?"
I am glad that you were able to bump into someone who you needed to bump into. I will keep praying for you and your hubby.

HP is always there but works in his time not yours, congratulationn on staying the course. So happy you found a support system. I hope they do not try to push you to do something you are not ready to do, like trust him before you are ready. In the mean time, just keep listening to your HP.
