Gratitude

I was thinking about the power of gratitude. I can be really bogged down with crummy feelings and very much out of touch with what is really driving me to react to things and feel this way. Im talking about the kind of day when grace is not even within reach. I find fault, act catty and wind up feeling small. When I am lucky enough to realize Im stuck, I start a gratitude list. Some times I start with basic things and then hit the big ones on my list. Some times I start with the big ones. Either way my gratitude list digs me out of the ditch of my own creation. A gratitude list is like jumper starting a dead battery. Somehow Im moving again even if just long enough to get real help for what was going on with me to begin with.

Thank you for a great share. I once heard someone say instead of think, think, think, try thank, thank, thank. That action usually resurrects compassion buried under anger/resentment and enables me to be kind...even when I don't feel like it. You have inspired me to dig out my gratitude journal and make a daily list. The sun definitely must shine. ((HUGS))

These are great shares!! Where would I be without gratitude? Stuck, stuck, and stuck. So when I get stuck in a not great place, I turn to gratitude. I can always think of several things to be grateful for and it's like a freedom comes over me. I like the analogy of gratitude being jumper cables--gets my engine up and running again!
