Welcome brendasuethomas. The best support for life with an alcoholic is getting involved with alanon--meetings can be in person, online, phone. The right sponsor is a treasure. We/I did not realize the damage done to me. I've been with my alcoholic for 32 years, but I didn't know it until about 20 years ago. Fighting, pleading, threatening, etc., all do not help. I've been in alanon now for 13 years--it's one of the best decisions I've made in my life. This program has taught me to cope, grow, have increased self-esteem and happiness, etc., no matter what my alcoholic was doing. Some people leave and some stay. That is a very personal decision. And now my alcoholic is having a year anniversary in AA in August. It's still not perfect, but it's much better. Keep coming back. Help and recovery is available. :) Lyne
