C2C, Monday, 8/28, gifts from a sponsor

The reading for today speaks of some of the benefits from working with a sponsor.  It allows you to practice trusting someone again.  It can teach you that you are worth saving.  It can lift your spirits and help you have a positive outlook.  You can be gently guided through the Steps which is an amazing part of recovery.

Reminder:  Learning to value myself can begin by having the courage to find, and use, a sponsor.

"Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore, we are saved by love.

For those of you who knew Betty, and for those of you who didn't, she was really a gift from God.  I was bitter, angry, disgusted with my A, and felt hopeless. I found MIP and Betty agreed to sponsor me.  I was able to trust someone who cared about my well-being.  She did the Steps with me twice, we did a whole bunch of Step 4's, and she helped me develop an ability to care about myself.  I knew she was there for me and I had the privilege of about 7 years with her.  I will always be grateful.
