level.
The author is saying that correct use of the mind leads to wisdom, and incorrect use of the mind leads to insanity. This program encourages right use of the mind and heart. We have a spiritual direction, and learn that our recovery is up to us. Our mind can either hurt us or help us--we have a choice. Leaning on our HP is important.
Thought: Are my mind and heart focused on my recovery, or do they linger somewhere else that does me less good?

I worked with an alcohol counselor prior to joining alanon, and when he used to tell me about the choices I had to have a good day or a bad one, I thought he was a little nuts. But this program has shown me the way : what I focus on the longest becomes the strongest. If I can make lemonade from lemons, I'm all set. With practice I can re-direct my mind into the right use, and avoid insanity. Grateful member always.
