Today's writer felt there were things they were not getting from their qualifier. Encouraged by a sponsor, they wrote a list of what they felt they weren't receiving.

In the spirit of Alanon, the sponsor suggested to then demonstrate those very things in their own lives: give what they wanted to receive, become what they wanted to attract. Unless they could honestly claim to be an example of those qualities, the list was a great place to start.

We get back what we give, that's how it works...let it begin with us.

Reminder Today I can actively bring what I want into my life, become the kind of person I want to be around.

"Many of us find that as we practice treating others fairly, with love and respect, we ourselves become magnets for love and respect." -  In All Our Affairs
----------------
Lately I see a trend where I behave until I see the other person cross a perceived line, and then I pull both barrels. I find myself wanting to point the finger: they crossed the line first.

This reading is a needed kick in the backside to ask myself: Am I delivering a good example of self control and respect? Absolutely not. It is spiritually dishonest to justify my poor behavior because someone else did it first. What am I, 6? Lol

That is how I'm acting when I do that. I need to become who I want others to be, who I want to be around. I must let it begin with me. My list is already made, I just need to put my name at the top.

Grateful for the reminders

Good morning

Thank you for your shares and the reminder to give what I would like to receive. That's not always so easy to do and I too tend to behave in ways I don't like and then point the finger saying you did it first like a child does.

I can't say I will never do that again but at least today I will be mindful of that and try to do things differently.

Have a good day

Thanks Paul for your service and wonderful honest share. I'm grateful for ESH always, from everyone.

Treat others as I want to be treated. That's my go to place and if I was perfect I could do it all the time. Well, LOL! But I do really try hard, so I'll give myself credit for that. With my A I'm sober and honest and none of that has rubbed off in 31 years! What else can I do but let it begin with me. :)

RE:

Good Day Everyone. Thank you Paul for your service/ESH and all shares. The heading Me First got me excited! I'm due for a physical and hair salon visit. I am going ahead with appointments in spite of the fact my income flowing in was disrupted recently. I gave my imaginary scenarios of future problems to my HP and to my surprise, an urgent situation was resolved without my help...or should I say control ...lol Today I've been light and lively with everyone in my path and plan to catch up on sleep. Grateful for reminder to mind my own business since I appreciate it when others stay out of mine :)

Thank you as well everyone and to you Paul for your service and reminders that what I project in the world is what I can expect to receive in return.
