2/28/23 C2C Step 3 – Not One and Done

Turning our life and our will over to a higher power (Step 3) is not just a one and done, observes today's author. It is something we do more often as we develop and grow spiritually.

The circumstances that lead us to Alanon include few or no other choices but to admit our powerlessness and look for help. As we get stronger, this becomes a conscious choice to seek guidance rather than run on our own power and self will.

Daily, we have opportunities to strengthen our habit of seeking the will of our higher power in thought and action.

Reminder: Faith takes practice, today I will seek more opportunities to look for higher power guidance.

"Step Three suggests I teach myself, from this moment on, to be receptive, to open myself to help rom my Higher Power." - Alanon's Twelve Steps & Twelve Traditions
----------------------
The gift of desperation led me to do what I would never have done if things were even slightly better:

Consider turning my will over to something other than the confines of my own mind and will. For that, I am grateful.

Actively practicing Step 3 in daily life, however, can be challenging as I now have a choice in the matter, not living in the desperation I once did.

When I don't set Step 3 as a focus at the first part of my day, it is very easy to route thoughts and decisions, my will and life, directly into execution rather than to my higher power.

Grateful for the reminder

Thank you Paul for your service and this C2C reminder today.

I cannot imagine my life without my faith.

Thanks Paul for your service and above shares. My HP came into my life about 30 years ago. For that I am grateful daily, and it's made my work in this program easier. I don't have to struggle to come to terms with who or what my HP is. As stated above, my HP is with me and hand and hand with alanon, it's a win/win.
