ODAT in alanon, Monday, 12/12, blaming others

The writer ponders what happens when we blame others.  They say that much of what happens to us is self-created, and that much of our unhappiness is due to the way we react when hurt or disappointed.  The writer is convinced that we can be the "captain" of our soul and ward off disappointments and other troubles.  Blaming others for what happens to us keeps us at a "spiritual standstill."

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I could not have agreed with the above thoughts before recovery.  I easily blamed others for my feeling so lousy, worthless, and guilty.  Through alanon I have come to see that I can have some amount of control over myself.  I've learned how important my attitude is, and practice acceptance often.  The 3 A's and 3 C's come to mind.  Let me keep the focus on myself ODAT.

Thank you Lyne for your service, todays reading and ESH.

I so agree with you, that my perspective and gratitude play a huge roll in how I react and feel

when it comes to the blame game. Thank you for today's reminder. Happy Monday to you and

the MIP Family.

Thanks Lyne, and both for your Experience, Strength, and Hope...

Unless someone is beating me physically with a pipe, the rest is all my interpretation of sounds I'm hearing, meaning I'm assigning to words or light waves/particles bouncing off of surfaces.

The control I have over other people and things is minimal, the power I have over how I choose to perceive them is endless...grateful for the eternal wisdom of this spiritual program
