c2c October 27th Your higher power is not a pie

Today's C2C speaks of the writer lying on the beach soaking up the sun, and realising that the sun is like the love of their HP- endless and having more than enough for everyone. They describe having to overcome feelings of jealousy when others talk about their closeness to their HP as it left them feeling as if that somehow diminished their own relationship with that same HP. But by concluding that there was enough love for everyone they were able to get past this jealous feeling.

This is a bit of a difficult reading for me to engage with because it really doesn't fit with my own ideas of an HP but that's OK because everyone's experience of their HP is unique and entirely their own. A sense of spiritual connection or completeness isn't pie- they're right. We can all have as much of that as we like, and my main takeaway from this reading is the reminder that not understanding this person's personal experience of a higher power doesn't make mine any more or less valid, unique or abundant either. And vice versa. And that right there is a really grand and wonderful aspect to this program.

I hope everyone has a delightful Thursday!

Thank you YKM for your service, todays reading, friendship and wisdom.

I agree that everyone's experiences with their HP is so different based on their spiritual

connection and that connection has nothing to do with validity. I believe that our

perception and daily practices play roles and yes Al-Anon is "grand and wonderful" smile

{{HUGS}} to you and the MIP Family for a wonderful Thursday!

Thanks YKM for your service and all above ESH. One of my Bettyisms she taught me: To compare is to despair. Hard to do but I try. And here's another saying I latched onto by Deepak Choprah: No one is above us, and no one is below. I really like this concept for it tells me we are all the same in many ways. Life is hard but this program teaches me a new way to think and behave that just make so much sense to me. Grateful member always.
