Hope for Today Feb 9

Good morning everyone-

Todays reading is about leadership and the different forms it can take. The writer describes, through his/her understanding of concept nine, that leadership can come in the form of following program suggestions, inspiring others in that way.  For those of us who do not find the leadership role the one we are most comfortable in, it is helpful to know that maybe leadership can be our commitment in attending meetings, being a good witness when others are sharing.  Volunteering for service, contributing when we can- are all ways to demonstrate leadership.

I always considered myself more of a follower than leader, but have found myself in a career that involves responsibility for the 400 students at my school. I am a single parent. I think about this and consider- I had better figure out how to be a leader, whatever that might mean for me!

I appreciate the Thought for the Day: Each and every member of Al-Anon has the potential to become a leader.

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

Mary

Thank you Mary for your service and the daily. Love your share/ESH too. Many, many moons ago, when I was first starting my career, I got to attend a training class called Leadership @ Every Level. Like so many other life events, it didn't totally 'compute' then in my mind, yet I grew to value that class so, so much as I continued forward in both my life and my career.

Today, I am 100% satisfied and content to lead or to follow. Recovery has helped me understand that adding value doesn't always have to be in the 'managing' role - when I remain open, willing and humble, I am constantly learning, growing and adding value or leading. I find as I age that those who lead with humility and grace are remembered far longer than those who had a heavy hand.

Happy Sunday to all - find and keep your joy MIP family! (((Hugs)))
