The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I am thinking of this idea, found in Courage To Change, for the 1st of April: ~awareness, acceptance, action~. And, looking back the cover steps 1 thru 3; steps 4 thru 9; and then steps 10, 11, and 12, together.
Currently I am thinking of stepping into oldtimer territory, which means working the last three steps together.
We have a sitting room kitchen combined- with a small breakfast bar in the middle. In one corner is a blackboard- which is really my "camel" described in Skorpi's share this morning.
We were doing a home renovation, and I found the board there. I can picture my SO, legs akimbo and hands on hips- saying:- "You are NOT taking that thing home!"
But I did take it home and painted it with blackboard paint. I already had a box of chalks- put aside for grandkids.
Every time I come off of the phone, or have a chore to remember it goes up on the board. When a chore is completed I cheerfully wipe it off- with a wiper I keep on the top of the fridge, with the chalk.
This is my camel tied to a tree. It give me security. I do not have to rely on my own will power, entirely. Or giving the God of my understanding hopeless tasks to perform.

Hi David-Congratulations on having the courage and strength to change the things that you can change, which includes having a self that you take care of, in many ways, whether SO or others agree. Bravo! Lyne
