I would like to share of how my Higher Power worked His Magic in my life at one stage. I had joined a World Wide Pen Pal group, as well as being a Lone Member at that time,I joined a Lone Members Letter Box, from Head Office, in USA. They had sent me a list of People who I could write to, World Wide. I also had an Alanon Pen Pal in Australia. One Saturday after I finished work, I came home and felt really down, so said to myself that I didn't want to go down that road, and decided to get my Alanon, World Wide List, and just pick a name and write to them. I didn't have a computer at that time, so it was by Letter.
Because I have Irish Heritage, picked a lady from Ireland, and away the letter went. I had forgotten all about it, until I was going up Town later, I saw a Letter addressed to me, just looked at the return address, seeing it was from the Netherlands, and thought to myself, I don't know anyone from the Netherlands. Put it my Purse, telling my self that I would look at it when I came Home. Which I did, it was from a Lady, that had been over in Ireland, visiting friends,she was an Alanoner, and my letter had gone to Ireland, and then onto her in the Netherlands. She also told me that she had been writing to another lady, in Alanon, here in Australia.
When she told me her name, I got really excited, as I realized that the three of us would be writing to each other. The other two wouldn't know I until I told them. Which I did, we were all gob smacked. The three of us had a wonderful, long relationship. With my Australian friend, I actually was able to met her at a Convention in Darling Harbour. Was unreal, I knew her before I even met her as she had sent me a photo of her. Our relationship for the three of us, went on for a number of years, sadly, our Australian Friend passed away, and now also My Netherland friend. So I am left with the wonderful memories of our Time together.
When I start doubting that my Higher Power is working in my life, He reminds me of He gave me so much in doing what He had done.
Wow, even to this day, so many years ago, when I stop and think of how it all worked out, it can still take my breathe away, and how Great God is.

I so love God stories. A friend of mine calls them "God shots" (as in like getting a good shot of medicine). Thank you for sharing. I love this world-wide fellowship. :) I have a sister in recovery all the way out in Italy. Such a blessing. I should check with her and ask for her mailing address. :)
