Reading for Monday, 9/30:  The writer reflects upon Just for Today, trying something new!  The day can be about learning something new about oneself, and whether one fails or succeedssomething can still be learned.  You can try changing a behavior pattern or having a different response. This day can be seen as a gift to make the very most of.

Reminder:  Just for today I will look for ways to enjoy lifestop by a garden, try a new hobby, or call a good friend.  I can look for humor.  I can savor love.  I can explore something new.  Maybe just for today, Ill try standing on my head to see if I like the view.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This reading made me chuckle.  Just this morning I was thinking how rigid I am with my morning schedule which includes walking dogs, showering, and then eating.  And I decided to switch things up and it felt like fun!  I can enjoy my life more if I can eat when I my stomach is growling instead of making myself do something else first.  Just for today I tried something different, and I liked it!  Lyne

Thank you Lyne for your service and the daily.

This for me is all about being OPEN. The willingness to accept new things in our lives is a wonderful way to live!

This weekend I bought one of those light-up message boards - just a tiny one. I did so as a way to incorporate slogans or sayings that I find uplifting. So thanks to Lyne, I have this week's message:

BE OPEN.

Love it!

I started with the message "Make Your Day!" So go forth, embrace this week MIP family!

Happy Monday MIP Family! Thank you Lyne for the daily and your service. I too am very structured in my routine and it works well for me. I did skip golf today to go to the local Parade of Homes with my DIL....we had a great time 'parading' with the youngest grand who was a trooper!

What I love about the daily and the program is we have choices! Living (practicing) one day at a time, I can decide what's worthy of me/my efforts today. BR (Before Recovery), morning were not pleasant as I went to sleep and woke with fear and negativity. Today, not so much or at all - each morning when my eyes open, I am grateful to still be present and participating.

I love to say/write, "Make it a Great Day" vs. "Have a great day" simply because we get to choose. No matter what is presented in my path today, I can still make it a great day, because of recovery! I am off to tacos shortly - make it a great day all!

hey PnP.....I love the "OPEN" thingy...I am practicing that now..Funny you would mention it here when i've decided to really be OPEN to new things..OPEN to new approaches on job search...OPEN to new ideas from HP within me...OPEN to trying to do something different.......Yep....thanks, for the reminder

And Lyne, I love the idea of "switching things up" I sometimes am like a robot....get up...let dogs out...go back to nap if not working.....get up from nap....drink my power shake..go to gym.....like a robot...so I am trying to kinda "shuffle" my deck because not working much, now, at all, because of job loss, I get into these ruts, doing the same ole thing, the same ole way...so today, I did get up for dogs restroom and lie back down, but instead of the rest of the day, I went and got dog food and came HOME to mess around here, sorting out things, taking inventory instead of guessing when i am at market , what do I REALLY need to get...MAY go to gym in evening, "thats a switch" but yea, do stuff differently and do it in different orders if possible......break the monotony Thanks for your service

 aww Thanks Lyne...

...having fun and joy in our lives- is one of the rewards of recovery. Our kid brother passed in the USA, lat last year. I bought his ashes home- and his banjo. He had three banjos and one guitar. I bought a guitar when I got back and am learning to play. So far I can play three chords and three songs, more or less.

My backyard used to be like a bomb site... and it is improving year by year... also my gardening skills... chilling out, relaxing, and enjoying the exercise is a part of the journey too. smile ...
