Hey everyone. I'm new to the boards. I'm not sure if this will post. The first post I made didn't make it through. I'm a male in my mid 30s and live in the northern part of the USA. I have a fiancee and we have been together for 13+ years. We have 2 boys ages 4 and 8. She is my alcoholic, but I grew up with alcoholics my whole life in 1 regard or another. Anyways I look forward to sharing with you all and learning about all of you. Thanks for reading my introduction if it posts.
Aloha Happy Toe...Gosh I love that picture I get. Welcome to the board. It looks a lot like you have experience to share with us about what it has been like to live with the disease of alcoholism and also many questions about what it is like to live with it with a recovery program. There is lots of experience to share with you here and most if not all of the membership here are also members in the Al-Anon Family Groups. I am a member maybe similar to you was born and raised within the confines of alcoholism and drug addiction. Eventually I got my mind, body, spirit and emotions fixed (mostly) while living with the program. Glad to have you here. Keep coming back cause this works went we work it. (((hugs)))
You'll find a lot of good folks on here, with a variety of E,S, & H.
I am a male who has gone through much of what you are currently experiencing - my kids are grown now (23 & 21), but my ex-AW's alcoholism was in full gear during their formative years. Pleased to say that my ex is celebrating 16 years of sobriety - our marriage didn't make it, but our kids are flourishing, and the two of us are amicable.
looking forward to hearing more of your story
Hugs,
Tom
