Group Name

Good evening,

I am new here but not new to the program. I'm starting a new group in my town and looking for suggestions on a group name that is appealing and follows the guidelines set out.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What a great question! Personally, I like group names that are based on Al-Anon slogans, for example, "Keep It Simple." One of my local groups that recently closed was called "Room to Grow."

Thank you for your service in starting a new group! I hope it is a great success.

A lot of group names take from our slogans and/or our literature.

Probably a good place for ideas is the Al-Anon web site with the meeting lists. Choose any state and look at their meeting lists and you'll find all sorts of names and ideas.

Thank you for starting a new group! That's so wonderful to hear.

I also tend to like names that are based on the slogans.

May I suggest, "Brand New Day?" At least that is how I felt after leaving my F2F meetings... like I could start my day over... brand new & shiny!

Thank you for starting a group in your location!

Welcome to MIP mama! I'm also a fan of slogans or phrases about recovery for group names. Love the suggestion to scan through existing ones - there's no shame in borrowing from another group esp. if they are in another area! Our group name is Happy, Joyous and Free....it's easy for me to remember and uplifting! Fits me well....Keep coming back - let us know how it works out.

I too thank you for starting a group in your area - there can never be too many meetings for those of us in need!
