How fortunate that we don't have figure it all out all by ourselves. I appreciate what's said in our Alanon Welcome at our meetings. "So much depends on our own attitudes, and as we learn to place our problem in it's true perspective, we find that it looses it's power to dominate our thoughts and our lives. OK... fine, rationally I know that but sometimes the heart and mind refuse to cooperate. Often it's because I thought I could manage, expected myself to manage because of years in recovery. But no slip for me comes without a warning sign. In that moment, I ignore and push forward for whatever reason. It could be to not disappoint another, not miss out on something, believe I have the power to do it on my own. I can confuse arrogance for confidence and self-esteem. Whatever the case, god didn't get the invite until it's clean up the mess time.

I like your prayer Jerry. I will certainly use it but it's remembering to use such prayers that always gets me. "You're not alone." We say that when referring to one another but it resonates even more for me today concerning my higher power. I too, was in reaction mode. I forgot about compassion, detachment and kindness. I got selfish and unreasonable about guarding my serenity. In a word, my attitude just sucked. 

I'm grateful to pull a chair up next to yours at this board and feel less alone with falling short today of my hp's will for me. I surely know my actions were not aligned.
