Follow in IAH's footsteps--June Joy?

I've got joy today as I got to spend time hanging with my golf pals at God's playground -- a/k/a the Golf Course! It was a lovely morning and we had fun even though my game is way less than desired! I get to enjoy my parents through Saturday and I find joy in being able to spend time with them, be of service to them and detach when necessary. We grilled steaks for Father's Day, and flipped back/forth between baseball/golf for much of the afternoon - perfect Sunday of rest, fellowship, family, food! Life is truly good when I remain open and humble to what is vs. focused on what was or what might be! (((Hugs)))

I must admit that finding joy today has not been as easy as other days.  After some frustration and realization that my role in what was happening was NOT helping....I took shelter and walked away from a situation to bring myself some peace.  I suppose my joy is the ability to recognize when I am being my own worst enemy and taking steps to bring myself back to calm.  The joy>>> that this program works and I am making progress.

I got joy and the whisper in my head that "this works when you work it".  HP has been telling us "You're special" and today we believe it fully. Gonna keep working it.  (((((hugs))))) aww

I reconnected the rolled back chain link fence in the backyard. (Bought the house a few months ago and finally got a "Round Tuit") My daily joy this week has been playing with my dogs off leash in the backyard. They finally get to romp and play, and their joy is contagious!
Our favorite game is ball. I throw the ball for them, they chase it, stop it, run with it for a few steps, and "throw it" for me. Then I go get it. It's a fun game.

I am joyful today as we've got some truly mild temperatures (in JUNE) and I'm having some lovely window weather this morning. I so prefer fresh air, natural sounds, etc. to a closed up home with AC! I am joyful for the simple gift of living - one of my golf friends lost her brother this week to the disease of alcoholism, and that could be me or those I love. I am really joyful that Al-Anon has given me the ability and choice to be Happy, Joyous and Free! (((Hugs))) - find and keep your joy today MIP family!

For my condo deck I have several different solar lights, like a hummingbird, and owl, some spheres,, etc., and after dark they light up in different colors. I feel a wave of joy every time I look at them.

I have joy today in finding gratitude that I am blessed to still have my parents. They've been here for a visit, and things went really well. As I reflect on the many visits we've had since they relocated from this area ~~ 15 years ago, I can see progress! Since that's my ultimate goal these days, I'm filled with gratitude and peace - God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Moving back into my lovely room from the 2nd floor after 2 weeks is pleasing to my spirit! Returning to my daily structure brings me calm and peace in my soul. Trusting the God of my understanding to keep them safe frees my heart. I feel deep joy for the time we have had together and the simple fact that after 56+ years, my father said, "I love you" to me before I could say it to them. God is great, life is great and I remain open and humble to keep learning, growing and changing. Happy Sunday MIP family - Find your joy and keep it, just for today!

I relate to what El said about noticing when I am my worst enemy and working on it to sort it out...why did i do/feel/think that way??? what solution does it need for me to grow??? being solution oriented instead of being stuck in teh problem

Also, just hanging out with my pets...these horrid storms here, one after another, I'm more housebound when not working so i "create" stuff to have some fun...last night when, WOW!! no rain for a while, I stood in my back yard, while the "girls" were using the restroom, and I listend to a CHORUS of crickets....it was amazing...like an insect symphony, but it was beautiful listening to them..musta been 100's of them to make so much sounds......i just stood and took it all in...........i LOVE being in nature....I am gonna find a way to downsize to a more country setting where i can still get to work, would have to be a contingency sale, sell this place first then get my place, i don' tcare if it is smaller as long as i am near more nature and less people.......my higher self knows whats best so what is best is what I need to do....but oh, it felt good last night to listen to those crickets....

Joy for today comes from a day full of events suddenly changing, and me having nothing formally planned! My fur-baby took me for a long, long walk this morning while I chatted with God and listened to Christian Music....so, so peaceful and nothing brings me more joy than watching my spiritual buddy walk, sniff, run, etc. on a beautiful cool morning!

I also took advantage of the freedom of today, went to the store, washed and detailed my car, ran a few other errands and tended to some plants. We have our first 2 tomatoes and we made bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwiches last night - yum!! I don't think anything taste better than home-grown tomatoes!!

I am grateful that I am able to find and keep my joy each day, in spite of 'life' events. We've had lovely window weather lately, and the singing of the birds raise my spirit...Find your joy MIP family and keep it - it's a choice!

Posting for yesterday.....it was my birthday. I am joyful to reach another year!  Who cares what the # is.....Im grateful to make it this far. I had in person or video contact with all my children and grandchildren.  We went out for a delicious brunch, the weather and sun were perfect. AH put forth energy he normally doesnt expend to make sure I had a nice day! How could I not feel joy?!

Today is more chore oriented, but again.....who cares? Its another day healthy enough to see it all through! Happy Monday!

My two little dogs are a constant source of joy for me, many times a day, no matter what is going on around me. Life with my A is constantly a challenge and I have these two companions that bring a smile to my face even in the worst of times.

(((Lyne))) - I so hear you. My sweet dog follows me all around too and what a great spiritual adviser she can be! She certainly lives One Day at a Time, and forgives easily with an open loving heart. Love my girl - I'm partial to her too as all others in my immediate life are males!

I have joy today as I spent the entire day yesterday from 7am to 9pm playing/working closely with my sons. I golfed with my oldest and then helped my youngest cruise used car lots to buy a car. I enjoyed my golf game in spite of a few temper tantrums, anger at poor shots and a bit of drama from my oldest. I kept my peace in spite of the 2nd born asking for advice and then shutting me down - over and over and over again! I truly feel as if I did enough 'service' work yesterday to last a while! My joy comes from allowing them to be who they need/want to be and staying authentic and free from the drama, chaos, etc. I will admit honestly that I am in no hurry to test my strength like that, so also have joy that I am taking a day of rest today, and outside of a 6-mile run, a meeting and a long talk with a newer member, I'm in the AC, watching baseball while seated on the couch.

I am so grateful for the choices recovery gives me! I do not have to allow another's actions, words, attitudes, etc. affect me, my peace or my day....it's not always easy but when I recall some of our many tools, I do feel empowered to stay centered and calm keeping my serenity and joy instead of the alternative. Choosing to keep my power vs. giving it to another helps me hold tight to my joy, one day at a time!

Greetings MIP! I still got my joy - it's just been a crazy, busy week here. I have joy is being healthy, able and capable to be of service to others, take care of my own 'stuff' and be active. My sweet dog Layla has been in need as there have been fireworks for several nights in a row - which cause her anxiety and fear. What a gift to just be present, sit with her, hold her and reassure here with a calm mind, spirit and body. She's very good at sensing my emotions and often comes to my need when I am down or anxious - what a gift to do the same for her.

I have a ton of joy for MIP too! No matter what's going on, where I am, what I am doing, I can stop by here and get some ESH from others in active recovery! It's beyond comforting and a gift - it's a lovely tool in my bag! Huge (((Hugs))) MIP family! Enjoy your Saturday/Sunday!

Last month, we had an abundance of cherries! This month, we have peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers. My heart smiles with each bite of anything home grown - there's something magical about consuming the byproduct of hard work! I have tons of gratitude and joy that my youngest saved enough money to purchase a car, got his license reinstated yesterday and for the first time since November, we did not have to get up super early and drive him to work for a 5:30am start time! (((Hugs)))

July joy! Ive been working with my puppy to teach her not to bark at people and cars. Today, except for her barking at an orange cat, we were successful by my giving her treats as she listened to commands. Hooray!
