Courage to Change 5/16/19

Today's reading discusses Tradition Eight and suggests we come together as a fellowship of equals, where no one is in charge and no one is an expert.  Every member can contribute to the healing power of Al-Anon simply by sharing his/her personal story of experience, strength and hope.  No special treatment or qualification other than membership is necessary or even desired.

Al-Anon is remarkably effective for family/friends of alcoholics.  Al-Anon won't solve every problem or cure every illness and supports outside help and tools completely as needed.

Reminder:  A wonderfully nurturing atmosphere is created when people help other people by being themselves and sharing their own experiences.  I will contribute to this interchange today.

Quote from The Twelve Steps and Traditions:  " . . . We meet as equals and help one another, not because some are experts and others are learners, but because we all have needs and strengths."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am a learner and will always be.  Each day, I am given that day to live, explore, learn and love.  I am presented with opportunities all day long to be a better version of me, be of service to others, be self-less as possible and find/keep my joy.
The traditions are designed to keep the group healthy.  The group is only as healthy as the members present and growing pains are often present and potential sources of conflict.  The group can manage conflicts easily and grow/flourish by simply using the traditions as designed.
I am grateful for the many ways and each day I get to practice this program.  I have no desire to achieve perfect - just serenity, joy and unconditional love and acceptance.  Being open to learning from any source helps me work towards my goals.  One day at a time, I am a much healthier version of me than before!
Happy Thursday all - sun is shining again, and off to the golf course!  Make it a great day!
Thank you, Iamhere for your service.
I love the quote today... the reminder is a good one for me. Each of us has strengths that we can share with others... but we also can be open to other's contributions... "our way" is not the only way.
It is raining here today. My mood is reflective of that.
Good morning MIP.  Thank you IAH for today's reading.  I am finally starting to pay more attention to the Traditions....it has always been about the steps for me.  The Traditions are so important to our program and our individual progress.  I am so grateful for all the program provides.  A great reminder of Tradition 8.
