HOPE FOR TODAY...3/27

If you have this daily publication don't miss the page of the day.   For me it reveals a growth awareness in the relationship between patience and compassion.  Both of these were missing from my thoughts, feelings and behaviors when I first reach the doors of Al-Anon.  I either never learned them or I released them as being non-supportive of my pride and ego.  I did not exercise either of them in my relationships within the disease and rarely did I witness them from the family of origin.

Read, practice, grow.    ((((hugs))))  smile

Hey Jerry - great reading and powerful. I am glad you suggested it! I readily admit, I had already taken out my contact, so had to put on 2 sets of cheater glasses to 'see' and read it. My eyes have seen better days!

I see the middle talking about a variety of 'things' or 'defects' which stand between us in recovery and the sunlight of the spirit...self-pity, worry, guilt, resentment, anger or any other character defect. It is so, so true that we do not know when our time here will end, and making the most of each moment matters. One of my golf gal pals husband died Saturday evening, unexpected and not ill.

I can say that playing golf is certainly teaching me more about patience. I have to wait for my turn, I have to wait for others to approach and ready for their shot, etc. I am slowly getting better with tons of practice. I am so grateful to have a program where I can relate to others, learn from ESH, grab a tool or two (or more) and heal and deal with life events today - way better than before recovery!

Hope all is well on your Island my brother. (((Hugs)))

Actually on a daily basis I can be heard pestering my HP to deliver our Sovereign Freedom and nationhood back to us and then I do that courteously and with love.  Otherwise I am standing here looking out at the horizon and sunset also.  My contracting work will most likely end at the end of the week which it should and I get to talk with HP about tripping up to California with my wife who wants to trip one way while I do not see myself parted from the middle of the Pacific Ocean ever again except for vacations.  I love her and her family several of whom share recovery with us and then this is where my spirit was created and planted.  I have a few disabilities I wish the VA would help me clear up yet my expectations are not very high with them.  I am scheduled for a cardiology test as I requested a print out of my last physical and the test said abnormal while the doctor said no big thing...LOL.  That use to be my stated attitude when I was out there before program and now but now I have another set of ears with a larger heart to abide with me.  It is known as HP and HP surely does abide with me.  I am hearing disabled presently so reading the printed word is of highest value to me.  MIP is the go to daily meeting.

I am grateful to my Sister IAH for her ESH and love.   ((((hugs)))) aww

Hi Jerry-It is frustrating to need help that is entangled with others, especially large systems, that don't have patience and compassion. I wish you a good resolution to these issues.

I must say I always had patience and compassion for others. It is with program I am learning these for myself. It's a long time coming, but better late than never, Lyne

You understand clearly Lyne I have to take the Sovereignty issue to other locations because it is another miracle request so large.  My alcoholism issue is as old as I am and as wide as my family.  So sad as they are identified to it with the exception of a few.  ((((hugs))))smile
