C2C, 3/4

The reading for Monday, 3/4, discusses the slogan think.  The author says at first it was puzzling.  But they heard a childs safety rule that said, stop, look, and listen.  The author was able to see the similarity in the slogan and the safety rule:  before you get into trouble, or say the wrong thing, become obsessive about a person, or worry about the future, you can THINK.  This will allow you to engage calmly in discussion, or simply walk away.

In the days reminder it says:  Help me to think before I speak and pray before I act.

I must admit that this slogan didnt make much sense to me when I started program.  Think about what or who?  Why?

As time went on I learned to value this slogan as much as all the others.  I tend to think of it as hitting the pause button until I figure out what the best action is for me. And if I want to I can check in with a program friend or HP.  This slogan can give us choices about our behavior, so we can use good judgement before taking action, Lyne

The slogan "Think" goes along with my use of detachment. I detach, pause and think before i react these days. Great reminder- Thanks Lyne
Appreciate your service.

Thank you Lyne for your service and the daily. Thank you both for your ESH and shares. I value the slogans today in a way that is hard to describe.....for me, these tools have become critical to my recovery and serenity, and I really thought they were super silly when I first arrived.

Think also helps me to pause and pray before I proceed. I am grateful that I am way less reactive than I used to be, and it feels good to be able to grab a tool and do different than before. Happy Monday all - we are in the sub-zero temperatures - very, very cold! Stay safe and warm all!
