My Half Baked Idea

OK.. I hope this will make you lol if you're not having a good day. Mine has been one of feeling powerless but just accepting it.

So here goes..

I thought I might help the alcoholic in my life and myself to eat a little healthier. We both like desserts but they are often high fat and high sugar and we're beginning to pack on the pounds. So I found a recipe for muffins that would allow me to use prunes as a substitute for oil or butter. It really brought the calories and fat down a lot!

I baked the muffins and they were moist, tasty and flavorful.  We agreed that didn't miss the butter or oil. I stored them in a plastic container and they stayed moist over a few days. Then I thought I would do something nice for him and pack his lunch for work. Since he was enjoying the muffins, I opened the plastic container and took a few to pack with his lunch. They had a sweet fragrant fruity smell but I thought nothing of it. Later in the day I went back to the plastic container to take a muffin for myself. I thought to myself, wow these almost smell like booze. I took a bite and the taste was now a little different and not too appealing to me. I thought these muffins are going bad and I threw them out. My alcoholic comes home from work and asks if I had any those muffins today. I said I threw them out, they smelled and tasted a little funny. He says he threw them out too and that he thought they smelled like booze and that the prunes must have fermented LOL I said, "Oh, geez!!" So there I was trying to do a good thing and I end up giving him boozy muffins lol. Doh! confuse Yep, when you cook with prunes, chit happens.  TT

Who knew!?  Of all things, it had to ferment to alcohol!  Haha. Great share.

Really? Wow! I had no ideas that prunes would ferment like that!

And, yes, that is very funny! I love it when life throws us some fun in the midst of our stressful and often demanding lives!

(((TT))) - I genuinely did get a chuckle out of this! So, so glad that with program we can find the humor in the unplanned, unexpected 'life events'. Thanks for sharing!
