This author talks about As any year draws to a close, we should reflect on how we have grown in sobriety. We should also identify changes during the year that enabled us to overcome bad habits and to move closer to better patterns of living.
The outcomes do not come with a guarantee, We want a full life of course, but it must begin with a decision to seek and to maintain emotional sobriety..That is our key objective
Author also points out that We find that with sobriety, lots of other problems seem to solve themselves. Even if the problems are not resolved on their own, we now have the tools to deal more healthy.
Every year we stay in program, practicing the suggested steps, slogans, meetings, sharing with recovery mates, that
is a year of growth.
I'll be conscious today of recent improvements I've made in my life and all my affairs. With sobriety, these improvements will go on for a lifetime.

Taken from AA, but great post...
2018 taught me detachment...keep it simple and also rode me hard on keeping it simple, but I am progressing...
2018 sucked in many ways, financially and otherwise, hence the need to detach, and the rest, but they say when you see the lesson, learn it and practice it, you get less of the bitter tasting stuff.....
emotional sobriety is key to my survival, and I have to work EA day to maintain, to manage...progress over perfection....Just SEEING this and being willing to practice healthier behavior when I see the bad patterns in me is a BIG growth...
Rose,
Thank you for posting this! I am going to utilize this tonight...I am going to look over my year. To see if I have grown... WHERE I have grown, and where I may need more work.
Peace to you, my friend!
