when you get lemons...

Make lemonade of course! I am a prime example today because I am facing some serious challenges since the weekend & it hasn't ended today unfortunately. I knew this would be basically the only place where I can really share my frustrations. I am still a work in progress. Being up north here we have power challenges in the winter time like most northeners do. I don't live on the east coast.

Anyhow, back to the reason I am writing. I have been through a lot in my life & God was already there. I have had to deal w/ something I have never really had to. Sure toilets overflow, showers even get stopped up at times, but this is a more intense experience. We had to wait for the plumber who really couldn't fix the problem. He said he couldn't go far enough to fix it from where he stood. So, anyway are basically dealing now w/ our most recent landlord. It seems now he will have to pay for the fixing of whatever it is & it could take days.\

On the bright side, this is where the lemonade comes in: I can still wash my hair & bathe sort of. We have power. It is not as cold as it is going to get. I am still sane & dealing w/ it w/ as much decency to my husband & others. I have a lot of support up here w/ friends & my sponsor. Even if I only send her my gratitude text daily. I know she is there. It is not Christmas yet! Pardon me but I think God is in the miracle business.

What better way to take my problems to by turning into a blessing or just plain gratitude to the one who made us all?

It is that time of year after all? It is always a good day to be grateful.

For you all, I am grateful. For the many years I have been in this program & for the love you all give me.

So, I will turn my lemons in to lemonade.

Nothing happens by mistake so I guess this is just what it is!

Kathleen

Shoot Hoot ...have you ever been touched by the gratitude angel...LOL  So glad you bought it here as I just walked in from my frustration angel who I just had to walk away from letting my HP and the program replace her too.  My plumbing is okay I believe and with the program the problem is minor so I'll go get some lemonade and relax.

Glad everything is going nice for you.   (((((hugs))))) smile

Hi Kathleen-I've had many opportunities to make lemonade out of lemons, and the longer I am in program, the better I get at it.

I'm sorry for all your current problems and with your positive thinking, you will do fine. I do wish you a quick resolution, Lyne

Hoot - thank you for sharing your positive outlook!

Yes, you have reason to be down...but you are choosing to make lemonade! Woot! I love when I come on here and someone shares something that helps me...I tend to let my frustrations build up and also sit in the "pity party." Today you are reminding me that I hve many gratitudes that I can count, and I can always make lemonade out of my lemons!

I appreciate you! Hope your troubles get fixed soon!

I am giving you all an update in bold letters! Finally our problems w/ our plumbing are basically resolved. We are now able to flush our toilets & clean the shower so we can take showers. It was only for a couple of days did we have to look at our filthy shower. I am so grateful that sometimes people in my small town are willing to anything w/o asking for anything. I know it was like that back in the day. Neighbors used to help neighbors & when you moved in a new neighborhood you were welcomed by the can't think of what it is called. A basket from a neighbor. Anyhow, back to our current condition, we are starting to feel gratitude really more than we did. A kind of gratitude only God can give.

So, there is hope & maybe on another day I can actually drink the lemonade!

We are not "power" less we are only powerless.

God is good & that is all I that I have to say about that!

WELCOME WAGON, RIGHT?

Kathleen

Glad that your plumbing problems are resolved.
And yes, it's called the Welcome Wagon! LOL!

I don't think I've ever experienced that level of neighborliness, but I have often heard of it...part of the 'good ol' days!'

I think our nation would be much better off if we all strived for this instead of concentrating on our differences!
