A Lita Anniversary

On this month in 1959 my Sister quietly and with confidence let go of her life to the struggle with Lupus.  She was heroic till the last second including telling the doctors and my mother and her new husband "I am ready to go...Let me".  The day before she was sitting with other terminal patients at Kaiser talking to them with acceptance and understanding and love.   Her hero garb was the same as those she was try to comfort while the nurses and doctors scrambled around looking for her so they would help her.  Imagine.

My brothers and I stood on the perimeter of her actions watching and for me learning.  Some of the things she allowed the medical staff to do to save her life without the use of anesthesia blew my mind and spirit and all the while she was teaching me about what and how things would happen in my future live and how I might handle them.  Her lessons work(ed) and still do for me.  Mahalo Lita, short for Estelle.  I miss her as I type this. It was her birthday and my amends to her and others is to continue to live as she lived and to let go forever how I lived back then.

She also would have approved deeply for our program.  Mahalo for letting me share.  (((((hugs))))) aww

A lovely memory Jerry- of a dearly loved sister, Lita.

We are expected to grieve, but never to forget, ever...

She abided with me as my Higher Power does during the early insanity days and I made her a victim of my insanity too.  She was bigger than that  and threw off the affront quickly and let it go.  She would love this program and what it does because it is what she does also.  We are not alone.  We have a cheer leader standing next to HP.  (((((hugs))))) wink

"Lita" Sounds like someone that Shared heart like her Brother, in the Love & Understanding of Others and their Struggles :) I know she is Smiling down, and Like you, I Like to Believe that My Loved ones are Indeed My Biggest Cheerleaders on the Other Side, Sometimes I Can Really Feel Their Presents when HP Puts me in a Tail spin and says: "Well How would THEY React to this!" It Keeps me Grounded to Know, they are Always in My Heart, and Forever a Part of My Soul, Just as Your Lita is for you...

Thanks for Sharing another Piece of your Heart my Friend :) So Very Glad your Here, and So Very Glad for the Guidance that Got you Here, Including the Love of your Sister :)

One Day at a Time

Jozie
