while sitting on the sofa. Good morning Family!! It's very good for me as with coffee and toast I picked up our 3 daily readers from literature. I have mentioned it before that I was taught to listen and hear metaphorically; in pictures and the first reading used the Don Quixote story about tilting at wind mills. The second reading from Courage to Change continued picturing me sitting at my managers desk with my filled in-basket full of problems of the universe to solve (windmills !!) and the class followed it all up with my how to and why perspectives on giving and taking recovery with others. I am just one guy in recovery not "The Guy in Recovery". The program says I know only a little and when I see that metaphorically my in box shrinks to one file...mine along with a "Ask God for help" basket. My 4th Step reads
"Made a searching and fearless inventory of MYSELF". I will stay after in class so I get that down better each day. It works when we work it Yes?
Good thoughts, Jerry. I think it is Hotrod here who talks about us thinking we are terminally unique. Which I think is a really good start to the 12 Steps!
My thinking, sometimes- my life was not nearly as bad as that! And other times thinking- my life sucks bigtime... which is a healthy approach... of self-realisation. That I am here for me, after all. {I think it is a genuine balance... } ...
Love that MYSELF is capitalized. There is some chaos and real life going on all around me, and I need to be reminded what I can change, what I am powerless over and what needs to be placed in God's hands. I am grateful for a program that allows me to start my day over when I need to, inventory myself and right my wrongs and let others be who they need to be - even when/if I disagree. (((Hugs)))
