got in a minor car accident...

A couple of days ago my husband & I got into a car accident. It was in a city 60 miles away from home. Anyhow, we didn't get hurt & it wasn't our fault. We were at a gas station, had already got our gas & were pulling out of the parking lot. A guy backed up into us. We don't have a chance t really get our car fixed. I really don't know how insurance works but our car is an older model. I don't feel very well as I think about it. I haven't really experience a car accident. At least not in the passenger seat of any car w/ that kind of impact. It just missed the car door. I am grateful that I didn't get hit. I don't know what to think actually. I just hope something good comes out of this. I have told this story over & over again. I even got to talk to a close confidant of mine right away. It is such a blessing to have so many kind people in my life who really care. My life is still pretty simple. I have a lot of time on my hands but I think I am using the time wisely. I try to remember to live one day a time. I can't do anything about what happened. I have to wait & see what's next. In the meantime, I can focus on what is going on now. I am in a cool library as I write this. It is hot outside but I don't have to be in it for long. My life is the best it has been in a very long time. I don't have really bad symptoms of mental stress. I can walk & do things still. Sometimes I actually feel good about myself. It is important for me to take really good care of myself.

I hope I was able to say what I needed to say to you all in MIP. I will update when I can.

Kathleen

Glad to hear you weren't hurt! Breathe, and let the insurance companies take care of it!
Peace to you!

It was good to read that life is the best it has been in a really long time. Sorry to hear about the bump to the car, and the fright it gave you. Thankfully you are ok and everyone is ok. Sending warm vibes ((Hoot)).

I drive an older car (2004 civic) that was hit last month in the parking lot. I was in a restaurant, and the lady left a note. Her insurance did end up paying to fix the rear bumper. I contemplated taking the cash instead, but they only offered 672 to replace the rear bumper and paint. Two years ago when I replaced my front bumper it was 500 just for the bumper, so it isn't even repainted. I chose to just get it fixed and to continue driving it a few years. The insurance wasn't that terrible to deal with.

Glad you aren't hurt, and this will be a learning situation for you - unfortunately.
