Hope for Today July 1

Good morning everyone-

i apologize that I am without my Hope for Today book, so I am writing about the last paragraph from Just for Today:

Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

for the these words are a reminder to live life and accept what comes with it.  I think for those of us who have had trauma in our lives it is difficult and even confusing to see beauty and enjoy it.  I also see in the second phrase the idea that what we put forth we will receive back (I guess this is the idea of karma?).  I have been trying to pay attention to all the things I say that are positive rather than negative, and how that affects my day- and possibly the day of others around me!

Again- I apologize for not writing from the daily today.  I believe my summer brain is operating.  I hope everyone enjoys a lovely Sunday!

Mary

Good Morning Mary Great choice -- I Love the "Just for Today" bookmark and this last paragraph certainly does sum up the powerful reminder well.
Every day, I try to look for the beauty that surrounds me as I walk to the grocery store or the pool and I am filled with gratitude . years ago I was too busy worrying about my problems to really see any beauty . Today I am wherre my feet are an life is o much more pleasant.
Love your summer brain and appreciate your constant service

Thank you Mary for your service and I too love the Just for Today bookmark.....it has served me so very well in my effort to stay present. I too try to see each day for what it is, a new beginning. What's happened yesterday is already past and intended to help me grow and learn. What's to happen tomorrow may/may not ever happen as my mind projects, so why go there? It is this day and what it brings that helps define me, my attitude and outlook, just for today.

We have had some rain overnight, which has been needed badly. With that came cooler temperatures, also appreciated. I have set aside my daily routine for the last few days due to some back pain/issues. I am slowly working my way back to it as I do much better with structure. So, Just For Today, I am looking for what is in front of me, and am grateful.

Thank you for the shares and ESH above me - always grateful to have MIP as part of my recovery. Off to a meeting shortly - make it a great day!

Thanks Mary and others. I will be unafraid. 4 words in a sentence that at times I find very hard to do. I am making progress. Today I'm going to a large family gathering and some of the folks I don't know very well. In the past I just haven't gone. Just for today, I'm giving myself a chance to face my fears, step up to the plate, enjoy the children playing with my granddaughter, and just trying to be a healthier grown up. ODAT, Lyne

Thank you for your service, Mary. I think it's great when we can find another option when our first choice isn't available. Today for me includes trying a new yoga class, paying the monthly bills, and then my home group meeting. Have a great day, everyone.

Thanks for sharing (((Mary))) Very nice choice!  Such a great reminder that we get out of life what we put in. What I choose to see absolutely affects my attitude. I am definitely going to try harder this week to not let the beauty in my life go unnoticed... to stay present and enjoy the good in my life. TT

Thank you Mary and everyone. The unafraid for today really was perfect for me today. I switched to the faith and went for a walk with my HP. It's beautiful outside and a mess inside. LOL. I'll be grateful for the mess tho, it means I have a home.
Hugs!
