Sandy doesn't drink anymore

My friend Sandy doesn't drink anymore. He died. They say he had a heart attack and that may very well be the cause of death. He was a big guy and I once heard him say he had high blood pressure so maybe he did have a heart attack. I remember when my sister died of a drug overdose 30 years ago they said cause of death was heart failure. I guess they have to say that. I could speculate and debate, or I could just take comfort in the fact that Sandy doesn't drink anymore. His service is today. I'll be there. I might even wear a tie.

I'm am also so sad to hear this news. My A has a year sober but is a dry drunk. I can't help but wonder when her heart attack will be. My thoughts are with you, Lyne

The sober reactions and responses are calming for me as they were natural from when I was a youngster.  I tried to understand the tears and such and never got it as my expectations were fixed already.  If they die take the time to thank them for their time and help and then help them leave.  And yes the drinking stops.   ((((hugs)))) wink

Thanks, family. It was standing room only at the service. His gentle nature touched many people. I'll miss him. I've got a lot to do at work (its a transition home for men in recovery so it gives me something positive to focus on) And I'll get to lots of meetings. This too shall pass.
