Today's reading suggests that we  focus our attention on looking inward to search out the negative defects that exist and harm our decision making process.  It points out that a 4th Step inventory need not be painful  but a brief look within to see why we do what we do and say what we say. It is important to do this  so to reveal what we are doing to hurt ourselves  and stop wasting our time with negative energy

have a good day ........lu

I like how the writer tells 4th step need not be painful,

I'm now working on my 4th step for the 2nd time,I'm able to see my negative defects along with my positives.....lu

Thanks for your service, LU. I'm only at Step 2 with my sponsor, but I've sort of wrote out my inventory when I was doing the steps on my own to the best of my ability. Will do it again, this time will be different, I think.

Hi Lu love this reminder., as looking inward does not have to be painful.  When i finally began to see myself as I truly was, and abandoned the need to be perfect, I was anxious to see what I was doing to hurt myself -- what a gift that was
Thanks for your service and I hope your day was Blessed

I'm late but wanted to thank all for the shares and ESH. Thanks also LU for your service and the daily. We had a meeting this morning on acceptance and it dawned on me that it's so much easier today for me than before. I believe it's directly related to working the steps, to the best of my ability and using them as needed to keep an open mind and heart. We do grow and it took me a while to stop fearing Step 4 and many other things....

Grateful for Al-Anon and all of you too! (((Hugs)))
