Courage to Change (C2C) 2/17/17

Today's reading talks about how our vision can be limited, and we can become focused on outcomes only we see.  It's easy for us to forget that a Higher Power is not restricted to our logic, and many wondrous events grow out of what appear to be disasters.  Faith is a marvelous gift!!

Faith does take practice, and often our fears can block us.  I can get lost in our own limited thinking, and can't see any way out, which brings doubt about our Higher Power's role/abilities.  At these moments of doubt is when the gift of prayer is so needed!

When we pray, just the action alone helps us be willing.  Time after time, the help needed to move forward is provided.

Our program is full of miracles, even for the most bleak of situations.  Being willing to turn our will and life over to the care of God gets us half way home...

Today's reminder --- I have an important part to play in my relationship with my Higher Power - I have to be willing to receive help, and I have to ask for it.  If I develop the habit of turning to my Higher Power for help with small, everyday matters, I'll know what to do when faced with more difficult challenges.

Today's quote ---  "In the hour of adversity be not without hope for crystal rain falls from black clouds." ~~ Persian poem

~~~~~~~
What I have learned in recovery is there is no perfect way to pray/meditate.  So long as I am willing to believe in a power great than me, and the miracle of hope/life, I've been able to grow and expand my spirituality.  I can pray in the shower, I can pray in church.  I can meditate during yoga, I can meditate during a concert.  It's not the way/place that matters - it's the willingness to do/believe.
My sponsor suggested to me long ago to look for a miracle each day.  My thinking at the time was distorted still from the disease, and I was 'stuck' often in negative thoughts....so - I did as suggested and was amazed that when you truly focus on the miracle of life - they happen all around us and more often than one per day.
Grateful for the gift of a spiritual way of life and a program that continues to enhance that for me.  Happy Friday to one and all - later than desired....so not used to having little people spend the night with me!!  (((Hugs)))
Important reading today IAH!!!  Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Faith and HP.
Today, thanks to much work with the Steps and slogans, I do accept that my vision is limited.  I  have seen many events that appeared disastrous, turn around into unimagined successes and as the result my faith in HP and the process has increased.
Happy Friday  Thanks for your service
