Holiday blues

Ever since my 32 year old daughter relapsed after 3 years of sobriety I have been in panic mode. She told me she relapsed right before she came home for Xmas with her boyfriend. Apparently she had a meltdown at her boyfriend's parents house before coming here. She gets really short and crabby when she drinks, and she has been less than pleasant during this visit. She is leaving tomorrow and I feel so sad. She lives several thousand miles away, and I only see her 2 or 3 times a year. Plus I hate January after the holidays. I wish I felt better about her state of mind and 2017 in general. Does have any advice to help me feel better about the new year?

Hi Linda,

Many Al Anon face=-to-face meetings fill up during this time of year, you should be able to get lots of support at your nearest meeting. In my home group, there are some parents that have been through hell, and they are the strongest people in the group.

Also, coming here and sharing.

Kenny

I agree with Kenny-- Alanon face to face meetings using the tools and slogans

I third Kenny's post. Meetings and Al-Anon tools/program were life-changing for me when I was in the cycle of worry/projecting. Keep coming back!
