Mother in law has passed

Got the call at 5:30 this morning, my dear mother in law has passed on.
I will be taking family to MI. Hubby is doing OK with the news, although very saddened.

I'm so happy he was able to tell her he was sober. It makes me wonder, if she let go because she knew it was OK now. She had worried about him so much.

She is with her husband now, he's been gone a very long time. I bet she's holding our daughter in her arms at this very moment too :)
I've been very blessed to have her in my life for the last 20 yrs. She was one of my "earth teachers".

Love
Christy

I am sorry.

When my MIL passed 8 years ago my A husband took it very hard and coped badly by drinking. It was a horrible time for us.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I am glad that you are at peace with her death.  What another hard ride for you to have to go out there to the funeral with all the other stuff you have to deal with.  What a rollercoaster for you.

When my own mother died I did not take time out to grieve for a long time.  I could not I was on my own rollercoaster ride.  I wonder sometimes if I would have been better served to do it then.  I did take time out eventually and continue to work on my grief for her these days.

Christy, am glad  your MIL is at peace now, and I am sure it did give her rest in her heart to know her beloved son is getting better and getting the treatment he needs.

In reading your post, you mentioned your daughter.  Did you lose a child. I am very sorry for that. And, if you did, you can  bet her Grandma is holding her close right now .

Your posts inspire me to be good and loving. You sound like that type of a person.

Your son, your husband, and other family members are very lucky to have a loving and caring person in their lives.

Hope you have a safe trip, and don't forget to take along some reading material (alanon).

(((((Christy))))) My heart goes out to you. So sorry to hear about the sad loss of your MIL. As you said it sounds like your life was truly blessed to have such a wonderfully warm and caring woman in it. I'm sure she'll be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that she is at peace and pain-free. I'd like to believe she is in the loving embrace and care of her HP and those that went before her and soon she'll be 'dancing among the stars' a guiding-light for those she left behind.

I'm so glad your A was able to spend time with his Mum before Christmas and gave her the beautiful gift of his sobriety before she passed. My A was able to do that with his father and i know how much it meant. It didn't lessen the loss but to a degree, it lessened the pain.

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
