a cup of coffee with our literature

Aloha Kakahiaka family....Good Morning (Hilo time).  Dogs are walked, coffee made and my literature came out on the table.  Its quiet as my wife continues to slumber getting the morning cob webs detached.  The messages and guidance of our ODAT, Courage to Change and our Hope for Today are like spiritual vitamins for me.  My recovering self is energized and excited for what's to come...the choices I've made and gratitude feels great at this time in the morning here in Hawaii.

I woke up to the awesome sun coming over the Pacific Horizon and the musical lyrics of E Ala E rushed into my mind.  E Ala E is a chant I love and love to do which is about the light of the coming sun pushing back the unknown and doubts which lived and waited in the darkness.  The metaphor is of the sunlight making the night flee and from the top of the mountains making the darkness sink down into the Aina...the land and our visions become clear and our paths also.  It is a repetitious chant and for me as a prayer, my creator father, my higher power knows and hears my gratitude.  Oh blessed Al-Anon for being in that morning sun rise and for this family who led me back to it.

Just a part of the reading reminds me that many other of different faiths and understanding can and have led me back to my own.  Mahalo Piha Ohana...Thank you deeply and completely my family.    ((((hugs)))) aww

HI Jerry I agree, alanon, being a spiritual program, has given me permission and the ability to explore my concept of a Higher Power within my spirituality and then to embrace my Faith in the GOD of my understanding . The ODAT reading for today was very powerful.

I got a visual of your morning sunrise - it was beautiful and I thank you for sharing it...

I spent some good quality time with the grand-babies and that always brightens my day! We had our weekly meeting followed by a pot luck.

For our shared birthday Jerry, I invited the whole HJF (Happy, Joyous & Free) Al-Anon group to meet me for Tacos Monday evening. We shall see who comes out but that's my favorite food at my favorite place with some of my family - first time I've had a formal plan for my birthday in a long while!

(((Hugs))) to you and all - it's a glorious day to be alive and grateful!

Lovely post, Jerry. Thank you for sharing it.

I also love my program reading/listening and a nice hot drink.
