A tragic terrible waste

Once again, youth and alcohol have combined to a terrible tragedy here. 3 young people, two 18 year old boys and a 15 year old girl gone. Five kids piled in a car, beer cans scattered everywhere at the crash site.  The 19 year old driver and an 18 year old female passenger are clinging to life.

I  know the mum of the 15 year old girl who died, and I know there are no words that will comfort her right now.  I imagine myself in her place and feel sick to my stomach.

Will this insanity ever end?!  Thanks for listening.

My heart goes out to those families. I am so saddened by this as it brings back memories of kids here in our town too who have died from drinking and driving accidents :(  Someone my husband works with just died from drinking and driving and it shocked everyone since he didn't drink much at all. He was almost 50 and was driving home from a bar. He missed a corner and rolled the car. They figured from the skid marks that he was going about 90 miles an hour. He is so missed by many and his wife and kids too. Who knows what made him be in that situation that day. It was so unlike him.

The reason I am writing this is because this situation changed my husband. It happened a few weeks ago and ever since my husband has had like an awakening and has changed for the better. Now, for the young kids to stop and think before they drink and drive. All we can do is hope, pray and keep on educating them. So sorry about your friend (((((((bonnie))))))) cdb

Hi BC this is every mother's worst nightmare.  Kids just think they are invincible and there has been research done that shows that the brain is not formed to maturity at that age so that is why they are such risk takers.  I cannot begin to imagine the grief if it was one of mine.  Please give your friend a hug from me.  I have just been sent the story from MADD from an alanon friend about the young girl who does not drink and drive but ends up dying at the hands of a drunk driver. I have two boys aged 17 and 20 and I have posted the message on my fridge door.  I haven't said a word about it just left it there so every time they open that door they can read it.  Thinking of you with love.  Leo xx
