Courage to Change reading 7-9-2016

The C2C reading for July 9 about life being a package deal. We cannot simply  choose the parcel we would like and avoid the  rest . I know I tried to do this and thought that it was possible how disappointed I was as I did not succeed!!!

The reading points out that living life  by our own rules many of us adapted  the tool of taking whatever part of reality pleased us, and ignoring the rest. Devastated because reality is just that and because we cannot deny the truth  . The  reading points out that our lives will remain confused   as long as  we only live the half that is true .

In order to live in reality it is important s to share what is truly going on.

The quote is from Henry Thoreau "if you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be.. Now could foundations under them."

I love the Sanskrit poem The Salutation to the Dawn  that  speaks to being aware and in the moment .:

Look to this day
for it is life
the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all
the realities and truths of existence
the joy of growth
the splendor of action
the glory of power.

For yesterday is but a memory
And tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived
makes every yesterday a memory of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Great reason to be in the moment.  Have a great day

This is so what I needed to read today Betty, thank you. I've been slipping so much into patterns of either 'rewriting history so it feels nicer" alternating with imagining the future in awful ways. And, surprise....I've been anxious and sad!
I love this poem; it's perfect for right now

Thank you Betty.  I needed this also! Like Ms Meliss, I have been thinking and re thinking situations and events that have either gone by or not happened yet.  I don't know why it's so difficult to stay right in this present moment-! Your response to the C2C reading reminds me that is the only thing I can do- be present right now.

thank you for your service and the thoughts for today!

M

A great way to start my day as well......I am focused on today, just today and my truth for my present. Got some wind blowing, and sure trying to avoid the dust storm and/or tornado that is threatening (life, not real weather)...

I love that poem - speaks to me!

Thanks so much for the poem! Great C2C today; I needed it. I needed reminding that I can't pick from the buffet line of life. I also have to work through the tough stuff and tough people with as much grace as possible, even if it/ they don't suit my tastebuds!

Happy weekend to all and let's pray for peace for our nation.
