Yesterdays Courage to Change reminded us that We dont see the world as it is, we see the world as we are. Furthering that line of thought, the author of todays ODAT reading states that with the help of our higher power, we can see beyond what seems to be.
We do this by lifting ourselves from the fog of our problems, changing our focus from our troubles to the thoughts we are having as a result of them. We can see everything that happens to us during the day as a challenge, being grateful for the good and doing the best we can with troublesome.
It may seem at times that we are drowning in troubles, but with the help of our higher power we can shift our perspective, and know they will pass. We can see beyond them and find peace, one day at a time.

AlAnon helped me identify a higher power I could turn to in my recovery. When I find myself feeling overwhelmed, AlAnon reminds me that I am focusing on my problems and worries rather than on the serenity that lies beyond. This is a sign that I need to turn to the program and my higher power to help adjust my perspective. I am so grateful for the guidance the program provides

Great topic Paul I know when I can focus on the serenity prayer or a slogan long enough-- my view of the world and situations change and I can see the world more clearly and my options open out before me. No more black and white thinking for me. Thank you alanon. Thank you for your service.
I find that problems are a lot easier to digest if I look at the opportunities present within them. I wish i'd remembered this today; it was a day full of problems and I probably would have done better looking for the opportunities instead of foaming at the mouth LOL.

A sprinkling of color does wonders to expand our visual perspective; great point. MM, the good news is that we each get more chances to invert the glass...today is a new day

Great shares all - I had to consciously change my thinking - focus on what is working in my life vs. what was not as I wanted....I also agree on the sprinkling of colors to expand my visual perspective!! Great analogy - thanks for the service, ESH and dailies!
